Service Dogs & The Law.

Service dogs assist those with impaired mobility, vision, or other disability and are usually trained to assist in specific task(s) that a person can’t do for themselves.

 

Emotional support dogs aid others who may suffer from general anxiety problems or during stressful events like airplane flights.

 

Therapy dogs usually serve patients in a hospital, nursing home, or palliative care settings by providing companionship and affection.

 

HANZ is a Cardiac Alert Dog that works with his handler at the PAP offices.
Emotional Support Animals require no training.  All you need is a Dr's Note.  Any animal can be a Emotional Support Animal, from a dog to a bird or a cat to a turkey.  Emotional Support Animals are protected under the Fair Housing Act and the Air Carrier Access Act.
HANZ is a Service Dog Protected By the Federal Law's, ADA, Air Carrier Access Act and Fair Housing Act.
Therapy Dogs are protected Under no Laws.
